Book your appointmentAn ADHD assessment involves one initial consult, then a follow-up. In the initial consult, your psychiatrist takes a detailed history, completes the assessment and discusses management options, which may include medication. The follow-up reviews how your treatment is going, including any test results and side effects, and whether anything needs to change. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis or a prescription. Further follow-ups are booked separately as needed.
Eligible patients with a valid GP referral may be able to claim a Medicare rebate on psychiatric consultations, which reduces the out-of-pocket cost. Rebate amounts depend on the Medicare item your psychiatrist bills and your circumstances.
