In the Northern Territory, a psychiatrist or paediatrician usually diagnoses ADHD and starts medication. Telehealth matters even more here, given how far specialist care can be. A psychologist can assess and diagnose ADHD and build the day-to-day strategies, but they do not prescribe. That part sits with a medical prescriber.
Assessment is one part. The rest is practical. You build systems that hold up on a bad week, ways to manage focus and impulse, and a kinder way of talking to yourself after years of missed deadlines. It works well by video.
