A person can get a Carer's Leave Certificate if they had to take leave in order to provide support or care to an immediate family member or household member. All employees except casual employees are entitled to paid sick and carer’s leave.
A carer's certificate is a document issued by a doctor that confirms you were caring for an unwell family or household member.
Carer’s leave is where an employee can take paid leave in order to care for or support a member of their immediate family, household member who is sick, injured, or had an emergency. Alternatively, sick leave is when an employee takes paid leave because they are unable to work because of personal illness or injury. All employees except casual employees are entitled to paid sick and carer’s leave.
Updoc is a secure, online digital healthcare platform that facilitates consultations between users and AHPRA-Registered Partner Practitioners. With Updoc, users are able to request a consult 24/7 from anywhere in Australia. Partner Practitioners consult with users, and if they deem suitable – are able to provide medical certificates, prescriptions, referral letters, medical advice, and more.
You can request a consultation 24/7 – whenever suits you. However, your Partner Practitioners are online 6am-midnight, every day to help with your healthcare needs, so you may see a slight delay in getting to you if you request outside these hours.
Partner Practitioners usually review requests within an hour. However, keep in mind that demand fluctuates. So, if a Partner Practitioner doesn’t get to you on the day, you may get a call the following day.
